We believe that learning on the job is the best way to gain good quality experience and skills and improve people's lives, which is why we took the opportunity to utilise the Government's kickstart scheme to help introduce young adults to the world of work during the recent pandemic.
We also support a number apprenticeships, professional development programmes and work experience placements within the Group.

“I initially joined the Premiere team in 2005 as Despatch Operative (loading trucks) then got promoted to Despatch Supervisor. However, I have since completely changed my career pathway and, with Markey Group’s support, progressed to an Assistant Management Accountant role in the Group Services team and was promoted to Management Accountant in April 2018. It’s been a really interesting journey and there have been many, many changes in the 15+ years I have worked here! Most recently we introduced a new Finance system to help our function get fit for the future and I am one of the ‘super users’ for the system, so I can help and support the businesses with using the system to optimise their processes.”

Community Projects
We like to support other local businesses by getting involved in local projects and sharing their updates on our social media.
One project we've been heavily involved in is the redevelopment of Gloucester Boat House. We've helped raise funds to support this new exciting project and although not completed, it is already in use by Gloucester Rowing Club, Hartpury University and Cheltenham Ladies College and, when ready, will be available for hire for sporting, corporate and social events.
