    About the Role:

    Overview

    The main purpose of the Production Manager role is to identify and drive improvements in efficiency, quality and waste reduction in a multi-skilled Assembly operation.

    This is a well established business that needs to move forward quickly to reduce cost whilst improving control disciplines and implement the introduction of both new products and methods of operation.

    The Production Manager will oversee 80 operators working a 3 shift operation.

     

    Key Responsibilities


    • Manage the production process and Engineering function
      Ensure that the production is cost effective and meets cost per unit targets
      Identify what resources are required
      Monitor the production processes to identify opportunities to reduce cost and improve efficiency
      Monitor product standards and implement quality-control programmes
      Work with managers to implement the company's policies and goals
      Ensure that health and safety guidelines are followed
      Supervise and motivate a team of workers
      Review Direct Reports performance
      Identify training needs

     

    What we are looking for:

    Experience


    • Background in multi-stage manufacturing and assembly process
      High volume manual assembly process
      JIT production environment
      Materials control and waste reduction
      Management of a multi-shift operation

     

    Qualifications


    • HNC / Degree
      NEBOSH – General Certificate
      5 years experience in similar role
