  • Interim Management Accountant

  • Key details:

    Full time hours

    Interim basis of 4 – 6 months, extendable by agreement with both parties

     

    Objectives:
    Produce management accounts to meet company reporting requirements (timing & content)
    Improve timing of management reporting
    Improve content of financial management reporting
    Provide analytical support to the senior management team

     

    Job requirements:
    Post transactions into Sage general ledger as required
    Produce Trial Balances on an ad hoc basis for senior management
    Prepare monthly management & departmental accounts
    Liaise with Purchase Ledger & Sales Ledger to ensure accurate & timely cut-off
    Liaise with other group companies to reconcile inter co. transactions and agree balances
    Document & improve month-end procedures
    Investigate & report on monthly operating results
    Prepare monthly analyses of income and expenditure & profitability
    Report on agreed Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s)
    Prepare rolling monthly cashflow forecasts
    Prepare rolling monthly profit and loss forecasts
    Prepare & liaise with senior management team to produce annual budgets
    Monitor creditor and debtor ledgers to ensure accuracy of input and manage any overdue debt collection

     

    Management support requirements:
    Ability to provide detailed excel spreadsheet modelling for analysis & forecasting purposes.
    Ability to investigate, analyse & report on the financial impact of Senior Management Team plans.
    Ability to analyse financial results against budgets & forecasts & recommend improvements relating to margins, income & cost control & variances thereon.
    Ability to perform reviews of policies, procedures, systems, controls (financial & business) & partner with the Senior Management Team to suggest & implement improvement changes.
    Partner with Senior Management Team to assist understanding of financial information produced.

     

    Qualifications & Experience:
    Full CIMA or ACCA qualified
    3 - 5 years post qualification experience in production of management accounts
    Experience in Sage accounting applications (Sage 50 and 500)
    Strong Excel Skills (complex formulas, V-lookups, macros & pivot tables)
    Microsoft literate including Outlook, Word & Powerpoint
